4 Months and Updates!

I promise I will start blogging more and not just these monthly updates. Things are very busy around the Rollings’ household these days!! I can smell Spring Break right around the corner though so don’t give up on us just yet!

Can NOT believe our little man is already 4 months old!! He’s accomplished some fun new things this month. He’s officially a Rolly Polly, rolling from both his belly to back and back to belly (though I think the belly to back roll is only done so he can get out of tummy time). He enjoys standing on his legs (even though the doctoe says that's a 'no no'.) He’s also cooing, babbling, and laughing a lot more now and mommy LOVES it!

He’s also started going to his new babysitter, Julie, who we absolutely adore!! Yes, we were spoiled for the first month I was back at work having the grandmothers and Krissee come take care of us…but we are LOVING Mrs. Julie too!! Winn actually loves her so much that he hasn’t shown her his ‘stinky side’ yet…yes, that’s right, my child has saved all of his poopy diapers for yours truly to take care of for the last two weeks. Thanks honey!!

Chap’s job is now requiring him to be out of town most every week through July, which leaves me a very busy single mommy taking care of my boy, teaching, and still going to grad. school. While we are VERY fortunate to have a job, and the work, we sure do miss that daddy man when he’s out of town!!!

Growing with Grover: 4 Months
15 lbs, 26 inches long
(The rat wouldn't put his legs down so I could get his length)

Such a sweet little boy!! He loves playing 'tic toc'!
And he sure does love his Gramps! I think my dad's excitement used to scare him, but now he can't seem to get enough of it!!

I guess the only concern I have about my child right now is his eating habits. For some reason he likes to go on these diets, refusing to eat most of his bottle at times. I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about, but after having a sick baby I think I'm a little more paranoid than the average Joe. It concerns me because our doctor says we’re supposed to be at SIX ounces, and I can hardly get him to take FIVE!! Ahhhh!! Any suggestions or advice in that area is MUCH appreciated!! Unfortuneatley, I can’t bribe him with desert yet because the good doctor says that until we’re up to 32 ounces a day, we can’t start solids. Poor baby, I know he’s gotta be sick of that dang formula!!

He might not be eating as much as he should, but he sure doesn't look it! Check out those cheecks!

Anyway, besides that feeding part, I’m enjoying each month more and more. I love watching his little personality develop; he is such a sweet baby and steals my heart every single day. He literally wakes up smiling and goes to sleep the same way. I still can’t believe he’s mine??!! I don’t think I could be more in love with anything else if I tried!!

I still want to come and see that precious boy! Let me know if I can in the next couple of weeks before Baby #2 makes her appearance. Winn is just too cute for words!

He is just toooooo cute--I could eat him up :) He's a long little thing for only 15 lbs. Last month my little fatso was only 24 1/2 inches long and 17.5 lbs. We'll see on Thursday what her update is.

C-U-T-I-E!! Love the new pics! And so happy you are back to blogging... I've missed ya. :)
As far as the eating thing goes... and this is just my opinion... I wouldn't stress too much (I know easier said then done). :) McKay is the same way and my pedi. says as long as they are healthy and growing good (which it looks like Winn is) then they are fine. He also said they eat when they are hungry. McKay seems to eat less when he was teething and distracted by noises, etc.
Being a mom is hard work and full of a lot of guess work... you are doing great and are a great mom!!

You are doing such a great job and I don't think he could be any cuter! Its been a while but I think Mikayla only took 4-5 oz when she was 4 months old as well! Hang in there he will come around.

Love the update, love the pics and I LOVE that sweet boy! I am so excited that I"m going to get to see you guys this weeekend. I'm not sure about your pediatrician but thats not new. We can talk about it this weekend. I'm going to look through our blog and see what S & A were doing around this age. He looks wonderfully healthy and I know you are doing an awesome job.

Heather-- I promise I'm not trying to say that your doctor is wrong but different doctors have different opinions. My kids NEVER & I mean NEVER drank a 6 oz bottle. And they never even came close to 32 oz a day. I wish I would have recorded what they were drinking at what age but all I know is this; it was never more than 5 oz at a time. Don't stress about starting solids right now if he's content on milk-- solids are a pain-- but you're the mommy. If he's growing & he seems ready to try cereal, I'd say go for it.

Thanks for the props Heather! We all love him so much here, too! And as far as saving the stinky part for you, he and I have a deal. We'll see how long he sticks to it ;-)
