Crocs Rock!

So, I’ve always been very hesitant of buying the original Croc shoe…I think they are adorable on other people, but for some reason they look really goofy on me! However, I found this new style of crocs and am so happy with them I had to share! They are the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever tried, and for those who are on their feet all day every day, this is very important!! In my opinion they are pretty cute too, or at least nobody has told me I look too goofy in them yet. Anyway, I have them in both brown and black and have successfully worn them to school the last 5 days (including to play soccer at recess). Chap told me they are going to start stinking soon, but I’m willing to risk it!

Smith & Addison

The much anticipated news is finally here, my sister-in-law, Krissee, found out on Thursday that she is having a boy (Smith Chapman Day) AND a girl (Mary-Addison Day). Smith and Addison will be the newest additions to our family in August! I am so excited I can hardly wait to meet them!! Chap’s parents obviously felt the same, as soon as they found out Krissee had purchased the beds, bedding, and paint they were on their way to offer their help and services (great parents and grand-parents!) We had so much fun getting the nursery set up for Smith and Addison. Uncle Chap and I put together BOTH cribs, and managed to do this without any arguments (which I am sure only means we will have some difficulties when the time comes to set up our own crib!) I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful family that we are so close to and that's about to get a little bit bigger! Thanks Krissee and Daniel for letting us participate, it was a special day for us and we love you both! I can’t wait to meet our new niece and nephew!!

Larry means business when it's work time!

Chap I and putting Smith's bed together.

Ta Da!! Finished products, now we just need some babies in there!!

...Daniel testing out our building skills. I think we passed.

And Then There Was Light

So besides Brodey, picture taking is one of my students’ favorite rewards (I think it makes them feel famous!) Well, since we are studying electricity, their challenge this week was to make a flash light out of scrap materials. Prize: Picture on the blog!! Yes, they know about the new blog and have enjoyed visiting…which I felt guilty about in the beginning; however, it led them to a pretty cool idea of starting their own class blog where they will all read a book and respond to it through a ‘book club blog’...monitored of course. So. I guess it ended up being a neat learning experience. Anyway, here are the big winners and their famous flashlights! Good job kids!

Weekend of Fun and Firsts

We had a fun weekend with several first experiences. Of course, I didn’t realize this till looking through my pictures last night on my new camera (thanks Mom & Dad!)

1st new experience: A bowling birthday party! We celebrated Shelly by bowling Saturday afternoon and had a blast! Yes, we might have been the only birthday group there over the age of 9 years old, but that didn’t stop us from having just as much fun! I was surprised to realize that this was a first for me. After many fabulous skating birthdays, Chuckie Cheese birthdays, and slumber birthday’s I had not been to a bowling birthday.

2nd new experience: Feeling a baby kick!! While this surprised some, considering my fanatic obsession with pregnant people, I have never actually felt a baby move. I cried some happy tears when I felt sweet Carter kick Saturday…it was awesome! We gave Amber a “baby basket” (also, another first) that was created for the sole reason that me and Erica can’t stop shopping for baby Carter when we work TIN together. Buying baby books and clothes has always been fun for me, but now that I actually have a purpose with both my best friend and sister being pregnant, it’s even better. =)

3rd new experience: Hand made window treatment and shower curtain! While I have enjoyed shopping for shower and window curtains at my local Target, T.J. Max, and Lowe’s, I have never experienced the excitement of actually choosing a fabric, designing the treatments, and putting it together with a fun border till this weekend! Since I am yet to experience my first sewing lesson, Krissee and Amber have become quite the professionals! Thank you so much girls, I love them and you!! I can’t WAIT to put them up…but for now a sneak peak of them on my table oudaman will have to suffice, since Chap is sick with the flu and can’t get them up till feels better =(

The Stink Eye

While the movie “Juno” had MANY fantastic one-liners such as:

Rollo: That ain't no etch-a-sketch. This is one doodle that can't be un-did, homeskillet.

Juno MacGuff: As far as boyfriends go, Paulie Bleeker is totally boss. He is the cheese to my macaroni.

The line that Chap and I refer to frequently is: "I doubt she gave you the stink-eye. That's just the way her face looks... That's just her face," Michael says this as him and Paulie look to see a girl shooting them a hideous stare, it is hilarious! Chap and I crack up every time we hear it and we always try to point out people who are giving the ‘stink eye’ (quietly of course). Well, recently we were playing some ‘ugly face’ games and the stink eye came up! Our friend, Justin happened to nail this unique face brilliantly. Thank you, Justin, for sharing your many talents and re-creating the greatest stink eye ever!

A Visit from the Boys

A visit from the boys is WAY better than any candy or pizza party I could ever throw my class! It always makes me laugh when Chap brings Brodey in to visit the kids. They truly act like they have NEVER seen a dog before in their lives...knowing half those kids have dogs at home! They will throw the ball and chase Brodey till he pukes, then they'll stare, get grossed out for a minute, until they decide to start the whole thing over again. Here are the pictures from Chap's visit last week...not including puke pics.

Ski Fun!

Chap and I finally organized our first 'friend ski trip'! The two of us usually try to go snowboarding at least 3 times every winter and our fiends get sick of hearing about how much fun we have...so this year we decided they were coming with us! We went to Snowshoe, West Virginia (most decent place to ski in the east) and had a blast! Not too sure if everyone had as much fun as us...for many it was their first time snowboarding, which can be quite frustrating your first time! Expectations for this might include: bruised bottoms, crying, and of course cussing out your husband at least 5 times for NO reason!! =) Anyway, we had a LARGE time and can't wait to do it again next year!
