Oh Spring Break, how you have changed...

Once were the days of frolicking at the beach, or vacationing in Cancun. Waking up in time to watch ‘Regis and Kelly’ is no longer feasible during Spring Break. My oh my, how things change when you become a parent. Do I miss the old break? Sure, who wouldn’t enjoy a good lazy day at the beach?? But I sure am in love with the fact that I get to spend every single second of all my breaks now with my little boy, and THAT I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world!

We started Spring Break off in Greenville to celebrate Gramps’ 60th (holy cow!) birthday. I can't believe my Dad is 60 years old. I think he's the youngest old man I've ever seen in my life! Happy Birthday Gramps!!
Next, the Easter bunny came to visit our little boy. Isn’t it funny how the bunny forgets to visit the adults once a baby is born?? Winn got THREE Easter baskets, while mom and dad got ZERO! As it should be I suppose. I just hope Easter Bunny doesn't go tellin' Santa Claus about this new situation...:)
Yes, that's Winn in the middle of the dining room table. When he's awake, he is the 'centerpiece' for the table. Cutest centerpiece I've ever seen, if you ask me.
Playing with his laughing Lion that Gramps got us for Easter. This thing cracks us up! He rolls around on the ground laughing hysterically!

Winn and I stayed a few extra days with Gramps and Gigi while daddy went out of town. We had lots of fun taking several walks, playing with our toys, and eating something other than formula!
He LOVED the bubble gun his Cookie got for him. He did get a little upset, however, when I wouldn't let him EAT the bubbles!
This child has some very strong legs. He would stand up all day long if you let him (which Gramps does).

I am so grateful to have these breaks to spend with my little boy. They have never meant more to me than they do now. I’m sure this week I’ll go through a little ‘Winn Withdraw’, but it sure was worth it!
Little Winn, I can’t wait for our next break together. You make every second of my life better, I’m not sure you will ever understand how much I love you!!

Some big accomplishments this week…

~Sleeping without a swaddle/straight jacket (as Gramps calls it).

~First TOOTH!

~Scooting on tummy to get to something.

~Drinking out of a sippy cup.

~Falling in love with apple sauce (mixed with oatmeal and formula).

~LOVING and laughing hysterically when you sing (and dance) to “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”. His favorite part being the 'doo, doo, doo, doo, doo'.

~Able to go from sit to stand position while holding onto your thumbs.

~Turning the pages of his board books while reading them, and mommy is loving that!

They're getting so big!!! I can't believe he's been swaddled for this long--Savannah quit that once we left the nurses in the hospital. For some reason she's never liked being bundled up. And Winn is standing up on his own--WOW! My chunky girl can't support all her weight alone. She's got to start thinning out at some point, right?

Katherine, be happy that your little girl is eating so well!! I worry that Winn is already developing an eating disorder at times. His hunger strikes worry me! I'm hoping it's just the teeth thing and he gets the ball rolling now that the sucker has popped through! Winn actually loved being swaddled. We used the kidopotemus bags...but once he started fighting it I figured it was time to stop. He goes to sleep staring at his hands now, so funny!

I love these posts. You almost make me want to be a mommy. Almost. :) But you make it look easy because you are just so darn good at it! Can't wait to see you again! Or move back, so I can see you all the time! ;)

I love you guys. Sorry about the Easter Bunny thing, but I think he got tired of tripping while trying to get through the college dorms. I am so glad my boy likes some food, Chap always liked apples, but always told me to be sure I got the kind "with water in them". I love you guys. Oh yes, Big Norm, you are OLD.
