Ouchie?

While Chap and I were sitting in the movies Saturday night watching Changeling (very good by the way) I felt a fairly significant pop in my stomach followed by a very sharp shooting pain in the same location. My initial thought was, ‘Wow, is that’s what it feels like to be pregnant??’ So my hopeful self went through the next two days with this pain thinking maybe, just maybe it was a good sign. Since I despise going to the doctor, especially the girl, doctor I made up every excuse not to get it checked out. After three days of pain and worry, I changed my mind.

Deciding this probably wasn’t normal I made an appointment to visit the girl doctor yesterday. After the poking, the prodding, an ultrasound, and some meaningless chatter I learned that I have cysts on my left ovary that are rupturing. The doctor says there isn’t much that can be done for this other than BC pills. She also said that I am these are not the harmful cysts that require surgery, so I am very grateful for that! My lesson learned: GO TO THE DOCTOR!!! Save yourself an ulcer and get it checked out!! While I am very fortunate this is nothing major, I might not be as lucky next time and it’s best to know about the ouchie than to ignore the ouchie!

That's why I can't get off the pill--the agonizing pain of recurring ovarian cysts. The last one I had was a surgery-worthy one. But then it finally ruptured. So are you just going to suffer through in your attempts to get pregnant? Or are you going back on the pill? I have a pregnant teenager if you really need a baby but have to be on BC. ;-)

First off, Greg and I had a date night Sat. night and we saw that movie too... GREAT movie! On to more important things... I am SO sorry about the cysts!! :( I have those too and they are NO fun!! Are you going to just endure the pain or get back on the BCP?? So sorry Heather!

Oh Heather, I am so sorry to hear that you've experienced the cysts! I have had one bout with them and ended up in the ER. No fun. I'm praying they will leave you alone for now and I'm also praying for a little Rollings soon! Thinking of you...Ash

Wow guys, I had no idea they were so common?! This does make me feel a little less freakish =)

Jenn~ I'm not ready to give in to the pill yet, and am hopeful everything will work out eventually! After 7 months things are getting a bit frustrating so I'll definitely keep you posted on the adoption option =) I must have seen 8 or 9 of your students in the waiting room yesterday =)

Jamie~ Movie was excellent, I didn't know it was a true story?! Doc says that this shouldn't effect my chances too much, but that the pain won't be fun. I'm definitely going to try and stick it out, I am hopeful it will all be worth it in the end!! =)

Ashley~ Thank you!! It really means more than you know!! =)

That sounds awful!! My sister in law has had the same problems and are still on going. I am glad you went to the Dr!!! I think we are all wondering the same thing, are you taking the pills? I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers....I will hope for a Shania Twain Rollings or Willie Nelson Rollings real soon :)

OMG Heather!! I have heard those things are painful!!! I am so sorry. All i can is hang in there. Did they say how long they will last??? Hopefully, they will go away soon!!! With the pregnancy issue, I wish you all of the best!! I am sure it can be frustrating!!! I will keep you in my thoughts!!!

Can you a least take some pain meds (at least until you are actually pregnant)? When I had mine, I got Vicodin. It definitely dulled the pain. ;-)

Brittany~ Ha! Thanks for the laugh, Shani and Willie are just going to have to pull through aren't they?!

Sarah~ Thank you =) The doc said they could last a few months, or they could last even longer. Just depends on my body I guess?? I think they are most concerned with how fast my body gets rid of old ones before getting new ones.

Jenn~ She tried to write me a prescription for some yesterday, but I declined. You know I scare easily when it comes to pain meds =) I am taking plenty of Aleve though, she said that was the next best thing!

You totally just "came out" on your blog!!!!! I am really sorry this is happening. I just want it to be smooth, easy, fun sails through this process but it totally blows cysts that this is going on. I hope they all pop and go away soon or you get preggers quick. Someone may have already asked this, but do they go away once you're pregnant? I hate this. Can you "model through it"?
I really hope & pray they stop soon my friend. Feel better. Don't give in or give up!

I'm sorry about the pain you are having. To answer Colly, you can still have them when you are pregnant. I am 22 weeks pregnant and I have a cyst on my left ovary. Not very fun at all but it hasn't ruptured yet. Heather - hopefully you will start feeling better soon and that it won't throw a wrench in your plans.

Colly~ haha, I guess I did 'come out'...you make me laugh =) I think most people had figured it out though, it's really hard for me to keep quiet about babies!! =)I'll do my best to 'model through', haha, love you!

Holly~ That's reassuring to hear that you have the same problem...NOT that I wish any pain on you at all, just to know the doctors aren't full of it! =)
I think another one ruptured last night...was up half the night with that one. I feel MUCH better today though!! My fingers are crossed this will be the last for a while???

My poor Heather. I used to have those cysts. It would usually happen right after work, then bloom into agony lasting for hours. Then finally it would stop. If I went to the Dr, they would say, Oh, it must have been an ovarian cyst that ruptured. If it was a bad one I would be sore the next day.
About that other little issue, last year this time we were on the way to Tampa right? And look what developed for Krissee. I think you need to get Aunt Susie right on this :-)

Hey Sweetie,

It was interesting to read everyone's comments about the cysts. I had no idea so many people had them either!! I may have had some and just didn't know it.

I've talked with you personally about all this, so won't go into detail, but you know Dad and I both are praying for you and Chap, and now that the SECRET is out, as I said, RELAX and don't give up!!! I KNW my first grandchild will get here when it's ready!!!!!

All Our Love!!
