Birthday Bonanza (Part One…)

Lots of my favorite people had birthday celebrations this past weekend!! Two of these were Justin and Mike. Their birthday’s are close enough together that the wives (Shelly and Erica) get to plan a combo b-day bash. This year we went birthday bowling (my personal favorite type of b-day celebration) and then back to the Smith’s for a cook out. It was a great day with lots of laughs…as you can see from the pictures these guys just HATE to have fun! =)

Birthday boys opening their ‘surprise’ gifts.

Mike = smooth/cool, and really hot in his birthday bowling shirt and shades!! =)

Justin = confused/hilarious =) This might be the greatest picture ever! After opening the b-day piñata, Justin tried it on. Thank you for this memory Justin, we all enjoyed this one!!

Chap “serenading” Mike with a birthday melody! Ha!!

Happy birthday Justin & Mike!! We love you guys and can’t wait to celebrate another year of your awesomeness!

*B-Day Bonanza Part Two to follow (but not tonight b/c Chap is at the Dave Mathews concert and I'm a little jealous so I'm going to bed now).

I aim to please. Plus, I'm just trying to entertain myself more by saying all the truly random things that pop into my head out loud. Just to see what happens. Yesterday, I called some parents "remedial" and made a stupid suggestion for the website to help "remediate" them. Apparently, it made the director's day. And someone else snorted mountain dew out her nose. I didn't think it was that funny, but I guess people aren't use to the unexpected...kinda like they don't all read my blog so don't know about ducking, Ashley, shift, diad, and moduling. But, hey, not everyone can be cool.

Speaking of remedial, Justin looks ducking special posing as a pinata donkey.

Speaking of posing, which happens in pictures, with all the photos on your blog now and everyone checking it out here, I feel comfortable not doing a video yearbook this year. This is just as effective, I think. Everyone can see everything as it happens and go back in time whenever they want. Plus, you have lots of pictures of lots of people 'cause you're more popular than I...probably because I play ducking annoying games with people like Jimmy...but really because you have more friends, which is better because I don't even know 65% of the people at the Christmas party any more, so they get left out all the time. All my pictures are of people like Katy and Alex and Jimmy and Gary and Pat and Kim and well, people no one at the Christmas party knows. Thusly, I hereby dub you recorder of momentous and amusing events woman. Enjoy.

Jenn,
I am not at all happy to read here about you giving up the video yearbook.....I know it's a lot of work and you are not around for very many of the events in it, so I can understand why you wanna be done with it. But just for the record I would like to say: I love having the highlights of our year, seeing all the pictures I don't have, all in one safe convenient creative package, whenever I see fit to watch it on my TV, with voice-over narration and visual effects!!!.... It's probably my favorite Christmas gift ever I receive each year, and will be a sorely missed addition to the Christmas party festivities. I could go on about this, but I will just say thanks for all the years of wonderful DVD memories.

Jenn,
I couldn't agree with Colly more...I mean I usually do but on this issue in particular. The video yearbook is VERY special, it's kind of become a tradition and I think breaking tradition is BAD. Chap and I have all our yearbook DVD's in a special place and love to watch them during Christmas season. I also look forward to the Christmas party when we all get together to watch it, a very special time for our group. Anyway, I guess these are just two votes...I am sure the others will have additional opinions =)

Justin,
I bet if you took half the time it takes to make fun of BLOG to actually write an entry on your own blog, we might all be 'enlightened'. Your first topic can be donkeys, I am sure you have massive amounts to share with us on this topic =)

Hey Dionne!
We are really lucky to have such a great group of friends. They are like family for us. We also love visitors!! =)

Okay, why were you not at the Dave concert?! I am sad for you. :( I have never seen them in concert, but I have been hinting to Greg for years, so hopefully soon. ;)

Jamie,
You should definitely go see Dave, we usually don't miss a concert!! Love him bunches!! This year, however, our brother in law, Daniel had some great tickets that he gets every year and Krissee didn't think she would enjoy it as much (with twins on the way and all...) so he invited Chap to go with him...I was only a little jealous but have high hopes that I'll get the next invite if I play my cards right =) They had a great time though, so I guess I'll be happy for them =)

Matt & I would love to go back to SC for a visit. I've only been once and it was for a short weekend. We went to Matt's buddy, Carter's, reception. It was fun to see all the houses Matt lived in and wow, Greenville is gorgeous! Who knows if we'll ever make it out there again, but it would be so fun to meet you in person:) If you ever make it out west, we'll be expecting a visit for sure=)
