Alright, I get it!

I know I’m a little tardy on the ‘Twilight’ phenomenon, but better late than never right?? Dionne and Jamie were the first people I had learned about this book from (thanks girls!), and then my current professor shared with me that she was using this book with a high school literacy class. After months of prolonging the ‘vampire’ experience, I finally started reading this book about a week ago and finished it Wednesday night. I have never set my alarm to wake up and read a book before school, till this one. SUCH a great story, I highly recommend it! Last night I moped around the house for a significant part of the evening because I haven’t had a chance to buy the next book yet and I knew I was going to be sad going to bed without it. Chap thinks it’s hilarious that I’m obsessed with a book about vampires; he had quite the jokes whenever he saw me reading this book. Last night was no different; he still didn’t understand the severity of the situation. Our conversation went something like this:

Chap: What’s your problem; there are PLENTY of books upstairs for you to read.

Heather: I don’t want to read anything unless it’s about vampires.

Chap: Vampires are stupid, they suck your blood.

Heather: Not Edward, I love Edward.

Chap: Don’t worry; I can pretend to be Edward…(THIS is when the Count Dracula voice started. Lucky me.)

Today is a parent/teacher conference day and I’m trying to figure out how I can make it to Target and back to school in between conferences. In any case, I am NOT missing another night of Edward and Bella…no matter how appealing the Count is.

That is crazy, I am reading it right now and am on Chapter 5, a couple of my co-workers have read it and convinced me to read also. I too had suspicions about the vampire thing, but thought I would give it a whirl!!! We can go see the movie together!!!

We have it here in the library, and they do discussions about the series once a month since everyone's so gung-ho on it. I don't really like vampires, though, so I've stayed away. Everyone says, though, even if you do't dig vamps, it's good. I just don't believe them enough to go out on that limb.

Brittany~ I didn't know you were reading this book, how GREAT?! Yes, the movie comes out Nov. 21st and I can't WAIT!

Jenn~ I feel ya, I really wasn't gung-ho on the vampire idea myself, but the way the author writes about it makes it not very 'vampirish', if that makes sense...but I would love to hear your opinion on it, so I think you should check it out!

I haven't read any of these, did know the movie was coming out though. I like vampire stuff. But probably should wait til after the movie to read one of these, since the books are usually so much better. I like this series on Showtime called "True Blood" about vampire love, etc. Wonder if they got the idea from this...

welcome to our vampire world. I would say you only have a month and half to finish them all before the twilight movie, but that's ridiculous because I know you'll be finished within a few weeks at the MOST. You think you are a fanatic now, I wasn't a true fanatic until the last one and now I'm obsessed, I want to read them all again. That is so funny about your conversation with Chap- hehe!

Im a little reluctant to share this, but I actually read the first two. I was on vacation, and there were no other books available. This is my first step out of the closet, so be easy on me. The movie looks like it will be good.

1) Heather, I want to borrow that, as I keep hearing how crack-tastic it is.

2) I've known for a long time that vampires are cool. I'll let you borrow my Buffy DVDs anytime.

YAY!!! I know exactly what you mean about being reluctant to start reading them. McKenzie first told me about them and I was really skeptical b/c they were about vampires. I didn't think about them again until Colette brought me hers a few months later and so I thought I'd start reading them that night to be nice. Well, I ended up reading until almost 5AM!!! On the news the other day, they were talking about these books and said that there are waiting lists at local libraries with around 200 people on each one! Crazy.

Colly~ I haven't heard of that show...but I am lovin' these characters so much I might need to check it out!

Stef~ I didn't know you were on the vampire train too! That's great! choo choo!!

Steve~ Admitting it is the first step, so you're doing good!=) I actually just learned that they are coming out with a 5th sequel which will be written in Edward's perspective, so hopefully this will 'toughen it up' for America and folks will take it easy on ya!

Daniel~ I am willing to make a trade for my 'crack', maybe sometime this weekend we can work out a deal. =)

Dionne~ You just gave me insta-sweats with the thought that I might not get #2 when I leave today!! I am going to call some stores right NOW!

Heather Doll, I can't believe we just talked about this the other night and now there are so most posts on talking about how fantastic the books are!! You know I was going to go buy the book, but now I can't WAIT to!! I would love to go to the movies with you guys to see it but I may have only one finished by the time it comes out. I'll justt rent it on DVD when it comes out! I absolutely can't wait to get started!!

Mom, I hope you bought that book before your trip to the mountains this weekend, that would be a great travel read!!

FYI: I just bought the last copy they had at the store of 'New Moon', the pizza man should be here any minute to deliver dinner, and it's raining just enough outside so that I don't feel guilty about not going anywhere or doing anything...I think it's going to be a good night!

Now I really want to read these books. I've been trying to get Maggie to let me borrow her copies. I may just have to go out and get my own.
